About Me

I am an Iowa City-based herbal educator and consultant. I have a bachelor’s degree in health arts and sciences from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont where her clinical focus was herbal therapeutics. I am also the core coordinator of the Iowa City Herbalists Without Border chapter and one of the co-founders of the Iowa City Mutual Aid Collective.

In addition to offering local classes and herbal workshops, I present at conferences around the country and I am a contributor to the Herbal Academy's advanced herbalism and entrepeneur courses.I have written for various herbal publications including: Natural Herbal Living Magazine, The Herbarium, Plant Healer Magazine, and The Essential Herbal.

An herbal consultant is a modern professional, knowledgeable of therapeutic herbal constituents and the effects they have on the human body. I have have learned methods of herbal preparation and am an expert on the the safe and efficacious use of these preparations. I do not diagnose disease or prescribe cures rather I recognize that specific botanicals support the body's innate ability to function properly and heal.

In my work as a herbal consultant, I offer education and help individuals to develop lifestyle plans which support the innate healing mechanisms of the human body. I believe that with the help of a well-designed regimen and proper implementation, most people will see an improvement in their overall health and well-being.

I strongly believe that working with a local practitioner is going to be most beneficial to you. Someone who lives in your location and is aware of resources available in your community is going to be able to give you the best suggestions and support. So if you are not local to me, I will try to refer you to someone who is.
