Clearing my mind before bed…

I have been busy the last few weeks.  I took out  my Gladstar notes and am in the process of re-organizing them and adding to them from classes on Herb Mentor.

I have my financial aid in order for school in the fall.   I decided to take classes that would fulfill AHG requirements when finishing off my AA.  I still haven’t decided what to do with myself after that but at least I have a short term plan.

I have also been poking around in the wider herbalism community and trying to make connections there.   I think that I need this learning experience more than anything in my life.  I assimilate knowledge by discussing what I have read along with what has been successful for me and what hasn’t.  This is difficult when I don’t know many people who are herbalists or even very interested in the subject.  I  am envious of those who live on the West Coast.  There seem to be so many more opportunities for this sort of connection and sharing other places.  I tend to let this be a stumbling block in my life but I am pretty sure I can use the Internet and other venues to overcome distance.     Perhaps next year I will be able to squeeze in a conference or two providing they are not too expensive.
I have been eyeing the Kamana Naturalist Training Program for the future.  I have heard some herbalists who have taken this course speak well of this study course.  It seems as though Kamana  has really enabled them to embrace the natural wisdom of herbology.  I already have a number of the field guides and books necessary for the program but I will have to wait and see how the money works out.

I have also been working on taking care of my physical needs.   I am embarking on a sort of a “heal thyself” adventure.   I tend to get so wrapped up in the busy day-to-day aspects of my life that I forget to do the thing I know I need to do in order to be truly well.
